Principle of Reversibility

The Stretching Habit makes stretching a daily routine.
When you work hard for months and years to develop your body through athletics or exercise you can get to a point where you are happy or no longer need to strive so hard. This is a great place to be and if you relax and take it easy you will find that it is much easier to maintain a healthy body than it was to develop it in the first place. But what you need to be careful of is time and atrophy which are the factors behind the Principle of Reversibility.
Time being the simple fact that every 3 seconds your body loses approximately 50,000 cells! Yep and its not like you just simply lost them and can’t find them to put them back, no they die off and are gone forever. How can you lose so many and not wither away, well your body is made up of more than 70,000,000,000,000 cells (that’s 70 trillion+)!

The body is alive with a continual flow of water, oxygen, energy and blood that keeps the body alive in an electrochemical flow of vital nutrients that keeps you alive. The body is always rebuilding, repairing and replenishing itself adapting itself to your life, meaning the environment you life in and lifestyle you lead.

And just like the cellular adaptations you created through running and weight lifting like increased capillaries, which is blood flow to the muscles, and increased density of mitochondria for muscle mass, so to will you lose all of these improvements the minute you stop developing or maintaining them! Sure your muscles and conditioning won’t drop off immediately, but time and atrophy will slowly erode those gains some faster than others!
